I've been receiving many, many requests to photograph Yuuya with his shirt off/irezumi visible (although he has many more that aren't even visible in this shot) I just wanted to post SOMETHING, since I've been feeling a bit unmotivated lately. Don't get me wrong, I love the hobby itself, taking commissions, and also the kind people I've met who have become friends. But some of the shockingly pretentious attitudes I've run across lately in this hobby have made me a bit mentally tired.
So I'm just trying to reflect, find my center again and refuel my creativity tanks. I rather like this shot, even though it's simple. <3 So please enjoy~
That tattoo work is absolutely amazing! Painting is a skill I seem to lack, which makes it even more awesome when I come across ink like this, on beautiful dolls. *fangirls over Yuuya, but not so much that Nagi would mind... much*
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like it! Painting is definitely tough. It took me a long time to get the hang of it, and I definitely have plenty of room to improve! Haha, I'm glad you like Yuuya! He seems to be the favorite around here. Nagi is used to it (kind of). XD
ALL of your work is just absolutely incredible! I go through your gallery with my mouth hanging open and just saying *WOW* constantly. I also drool quite a bit, what with my mouth hanging open and all.
every time I see this I just stare and go "How?!" and then think about revamping mischief's tattoos for the umpteenth time.. XD I just redid his arm tattoo but now i"m thinking of doing it again....It's a really great shot too! Hope you feel re-centered in the hobby soon too! It's been kinda a rough year for the dolly community. @_@
Haha, I understand. XD I've actually reconsidered redoing Yuuya's sleeve, because I think I could do it better now. But I think that's just my OCD talking because... Seriously, that was WAY too much work and I do not want to do it again, LOL.
Thank you!! I'm glad you like it, though. And yeah, I agree, it's been a weird year for the hobby for sure. >_<;
I do that almost constantly. XD Oh this faceup came out so good!!.....I'm gunna redo all their faceups now. >D and then I hate myself haha! How do you get it to not chip at the top? it's been such a pain for mischeif's tattoos...@_@
I'm hoping the hobby will kinda burn itself out of the crazy and settle back into being calm? One can hope, right?
Yeah, I hope so, too. XD It seems that more and more people are just sick of all the whining and arguments and stupidity. But that won't stop all the genuinely rude, inconsiderate people. But then, what ever has? XD They're in every hobby and turn of life, I suppose.
Oh lorrrrrrrd, don't get me started on THAT. XD LOL. I'm SO SO SO bad about the face-up thing...I will repaint one doll of mine...and then suddenly I will decide that ALL of them need to be repainted. It's such a huge pain because I rarely have time to paint even one of my own dolls, let alone ALL of them. Ahhh, the craziness.
As for his tattoos, there really isn't anyway around it. Though, his have done very well so far and haven't chipped much at all. But I did paint him over several months...so he got literally too many layers of sealant to count, LOL. I'm just very, very careful with him. My boy Mero has a much less intense sleeve, and despite how careful I am I've had to repair it atleast 4 times already. x__x;; So who knows!
People can be catty and awful about KNITTING... it's the most soothing hobby in the world! XD But they like to fight about it!
Same. SAME!! It's my life in one paragraph! XD I actually found a new paint to use and now i need to buy the whole set LOL. I just bought a ton of liquitex acrylics but they're so heavy body that even after i thin them to the consistency of ink they're still too thick or the pigment globs up in the thin lines! Lucky for me I've only got 5 full dolls right now. XD that's a bit more doable.
And I managed to sent it without hitting the send button. O.O Mischief's withstood a whole year of single sealent but this time around he looks dingy around his shoulder and it chipped where the joint touches. I'm gunna try doing some fabric sueding in his neck for his leopard spots. (and doing less of them because man that's such a pain. XD)
