"The Hannya 「般若」 is a demon mask used in Japanese Noh theater. It portrays souls (typically female) who have become demons due to their jealousy, usually of another person. The Hannya mask is said to be demonic and dangerous but also sorrowful and tormented, displaying the complexity of human emotions. When the actor looks straight ahead, the mask appears frightening and angry; when tilted slightly down, the face of the demon appears to be sorrowful, as though crying."
Although playing hard to get a lot of the time, Nagi (red) is quite the jealous lover. Yuuya is very precious to him. <3
You'd think after all the work I put into painting this shit I would photograph it more. -fail- I think I'm going to be repainting Nagi very soon...his face needs an update.

(Yeah, both of these characters are male (despite how pretty -- I like pretty, it's my thing) but they are also dolls, so please take your nonsense remarks elsewhere. No one is making you look at this photo, just yourself. So if you have an issue with it, just look elsewhere and spare me (and yourself) the stupidity of commenting. Thank you kindly.)
I've heard about the Hannya mask. I find it interesting, the range of emotions it can show and what it potrays, jealousy. jealousy can really be such a terrible demon, at times.
Back to the dolls, amazing! Did you do those tattoos and face up all by yourself? Astounding, simply astounding! They are so pretty together :3
I guess some people just can't leave their opinions on guyXguy relationships to themselves I guess? Well, I don't care either way. Personally I have never had any problems with homosexuality. If the two partners genuinely are in love with eachother then let them love. It isn't like it is a sin? *sigh* sometimes it still hurts me to see that homosexuality still isn't widely accepted in our society. A shame really, but thankfully it has begun, although slowly. Well, it is better than nothing I suppose
I love all things related to old lore, so the Hannya mask is a given.
And yes, I did! I do all of my own aesthetics works on my dolls. It's exhausting, LOL.
Ahh, yeah...honestly I don't know why people are still so weird about it. You'd think our society would be past this old way of thinking by now, but you're right, atleast there's some change happening. I'm a very open person, and see no difference in any orientation. Love in an uncontrollable thing in all honest situations, so I hope one day people can wake up and stop trying to control it so violently. Even though these are just dolls, I get sooo many cruel and horrible comments from people who just sound uneducated and ridiculous. Most are laughable, but sometimes it's genuinely hurtful. I mean, no one is forcing them to look at something that's "homosexual" right? So why are they looking.
Even if it is exhausting it sure pays off! Your doll Yuuya is so pretty :3 How do you manage to keep the face up and the tattoos so flawless? Doesn't it wear off after a while when you pose him around and such?
Yeah, I guess half of our world is still stuck in the dark ages. I blame religion a little for that It was religion that caused the witch hunting to start in the first place. Back to homosexuality I think it is great to see that more countries accepts it and let same sex couples marry My country, Norway, got added to that list the 1 of January 2009. I remember it created quite a bit of a stir in the media I think it is stupid for people to act like that, even worse when it is depicted in art. As you say there is no one that force them to look at those pictures so then why are they looking? To be Gods advocate or something? Please note I have nothing against any religion or orientation of life or anything. I just think that sometimes religion can make people act ridiculously stupid
Well, after a fews years, most face-ups/tattoos tend to wear down a bit, but overall damage doesn't happen unless...there's an accident. But I like to repaint my own stuff atleast once every two years, just to keep it fresh! The tattoos on Yuuya can be a pain though, because they're black and go inside the joints. So posing is something I have to be very careful and take my time with. No damage so far and he's been finished for over a year now!
Yeah, I agree. It is really stupid and honestly none of anyone else's business. It doesn't impact their lives (unless there's something completely wrong with the person, then that just makes me wonder if they're gay themselves, LOL) but yeah...religion has really made people feel okay about hurting others in the name of their God. It's pretty scary. I respect other people's beliefs but when laws are made to protect religions that enforce a certain belief that claim they're right and I'm wrong...that's when it REALLY bothers me. It does make people ridiculously stupid. I agree on that!
I was thinking he was a boy wow I so love this image in more ways than on now and I am part never new the story of Japanese demon that is so sad and cool
